Iām Maggie Egan, an experienced counsellor who provides practical, down-to-earth support for adults who may be struggling with overthinking, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, relationship difficulties or significant life changes.
My approach is warm, supportive and straightforward. I believe counselling should be a place where you feel genuinely heard and understood, while also helping you develop practical ways to move forward.
I work with adults of all ages and have a particular interest in supporting people over 40 who may find themselves questioning where they are in life, dealing with change, or wanting greater clarity, confidence and emotional resilience.
Sessions are available online by video or phone, allowing clients throughout Australia to access support from the privacy and comfort of their own environment.
I believe meaningful change begins when we understand what is really driving our thoughts, emotions and reactions. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you clear the fog, recognise patterns that may be holding you back, and develop greater trust in yourself and your decisions.
I see counselling as a collaborative process. By combining genuine conversation with practical strategies, my aim is to help you build emotional resilience, gain clarity and create changes that continue well beyond our sessions together.
I am committed to providing professional, ethical and compassionate counselling that respects each client as an individual. Sessions are tailored to your needs, circumstances and goals rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
I maintain professional registration with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), undertake ongoing professional development and regular clinical supervision, and work within professional and ethical standards. My priority is to provide a confidential, respectful and supportive environment where clients feel safe to speak openly and work at a pace that feels right for them.
My therapeutic approach is practical, collaborative and tailored to the individual. I draw on evidence-informed counselling strategies to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviours and life experiences.
Depending on your needs, our work may focus on recognising unhelpful patterns, managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm, challenging self-doubt, strengthening self-worth, improving relationships and communication, or developing greater clarity around difficult decisions and life changes.
I believe insight is important, but insight alone is not always enough. Where appropriate, I provide practical strategies and tools that can be used between sessions, helping you turn understanding into meaningful and lasting change.
