I’m Kate, a registered psychologist, Educational & Developmental Registrar, and the founder of Kate Loren Psychology & Assessments. With a focus on providing psychological support that is intentional, developmentally informed, and grounded in genuine care, I have a passion for working with children, adolescents and parents. My work is guided by curiosity, compassion, and an understanding of the wider family and developmental context, because no one exists in isolation, and every story is unique.
Our philosophy is grounded in compassion, respect, and a neuroaffirming understanding that neurological differences are a natural and valued part of human diversity. We view psychological support as a partnership where understanding and trust create the foundations for meaningful growth. We recognise that every client is unique, and tailor our approach to honour individual strengths, preferences, and challenges while providing practical, evidence-based strategies. Above all, our practice is guided by kindness, integrity, and a commitment to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel accepted and where positive change feels possible.
Kindness is a word that sits at the heart of both my work and family life. Motivated and driven by a genuine passion to help others navigate what life throws their way, I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique story. As mum, wife, sister, aunty, daughter and friend, among many other things, I value the lessons learned through life’s experiences, reflection, and the blessings of genuine connection. These experiences have shaped how I show up both personally and professionally. My passion for psychology began in 2008, during my first year of university. While the journey is one of lifelong learning and growth, I feel honoured to walk this path.
With over 14 years experience working in the mental health space, my experience spans across schools, community services, and private practice. My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based, but at the core, non-judgemental. I draw on a range of treatment approaches to tailor support to each individual, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Family Therapy. I am also trained in the following: Circle of Security Parenting Program®; Functional Family Therapy - Child Welfare (FFT–CW)® and the LEGO Based Therapy Program®
I am on Therapy Online Australia since: 20 April 2026
