Hey, I’m Jacob! I’m an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who has a Master’s in Social Work and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science. My primary experience lies in the community mental health and private practice sector, where I have worked with some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community. Through my work, I have developed a sound understanding of how trauma, anxiety, depression, and how other mental health and situational challenges can significantly impact a person’s daily life. To support my clients effectively, I tailor my approach to a person’s unique experience and situation.
I bring kindness and consideration in my approach and aim to support clients to grow and learn as they move through their journey to improve their mental health. I prioritise building a warm and inviting space, where clients feel safe to face the uncomfortable and learn to navigate their mental health concerns. I believes healing is a journey best undertaken together, and value the strengths and resilience each person brings to therapy.
I have experience in working with a range of challenges, including personality disorders, complex PTSD, the aftermath of traumatic experiences, anxiety, and depression. I take pride in fostering a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, integrating techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy.
I’m incredibly passionate about helping people heal, recognise their strengths, build meaningful relationships and overall wellbeing. I firmly believe that with the right support and tools, everyone has the capacity to overcome challenges and thrive.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy martial arts, with a particular passion for boxing, and makes time for the gym whenever I can. I also love experimenting with various BBQ techniques, including smoking meat, gas grilling, and coal BBQ, constantly striving to perfect my craft.
I am on Therapy Online Australia since: 19 March 2026
