Seeking support can feel like a big step, and I believe finding the right therapist is just as important as the therapy itself.
I'm George Mudford, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, relationship challenges, and significant life transitions. Throughout my career, I've worked across community services, mental health, leadership, and private practice, giving me a broad understanding of the many challenges people can face.
My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself—without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we'll work to understand not only what's happening in your life today, but also the experiences and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I'm passionate about helping people make sense of their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and build lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms. I draw on evidence-based therapies including EMDR, Schema Therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches, tailoring therapy to your individual needs, goals, and strengths.
Whether you're navigating the impact of past trauma, struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed by life, or wanting to improve your relationships, my goal is to provide practical support and a space where meaningful change can occur.

Philosophy and Vision

believe meaningful change begins within the safety of a trusting therapeutic relationship. My aim is to provide a space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted—without judgement.
Mental health challenges rarely occur in isolation. Our experiences, relationships, attachment histories, and environments shape how we see ourselves and respond to the world. Rather than simply managing symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying patterns that contribute to distress, supporting lasting change and improved wellbeing.
Whether working with individuals or couples, my vision is to help people move beyond surviving and towards living a life guided by their values, strengths, and authentic connections.

Quality Provision

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over two decades of experience across public, private, and community mental health settings, I am committed to delivering evidence-informed, ethical, and compassionate care.
I maintain ongoing professional development to ensure my practice reflects current research and best practice, with advanced training in trauma therapies including EMDR and Schema Therapy, alongside contemporary approaches to attachment, neurodiversity, and relationship counselling.
Every client receives an individualised approach that recognises their unique experiences, goals, strengths, and cultural context.

Therapy Approach

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming.
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-informed practice, and Gottman-informed relationship therapy. Rather than applying a single model to everyone, I tailor therapy to each person's needs and goals.
I work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I also support couples seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust following relationship injuries, strengthen emotional connection, or better understand the impact of neurodiversity within their relationship.
Above all, I believe therapy should be practical, respectful, and empowering—helping people develop greater insight, resilience, and confidence while creating meaningful, sustainable change.
