Christopher Wallace is a Melbourne-based psychologist experienced in supporting people with anxiety, depression, addiction, neurodevelopmental disorders, bipolar, and mood, thought and personality disorders. Passionate about collaboration and meaningful change, Chris works to understand each person's unique story, choices and concerns — prizing experience and insight as the foundations for learning, growth, acceptance and change.
He draws on a wide range of evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and is trained in short-term, solution-focused approaches for clients wanting to make change quickly. Having worked across rural and metropolitan community services — including clinical experience with adolescents at headspace — Chris understands the challenges of accessing mental health support in rural and remote areas, and prioritises Telehealth to help close that gap.
Chris sees children, adolescents and adults, offering both Telehealth and face-to-face consultations in Richmond and Camberwell, with after-hours sessions available. He is registered with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), AACBT, ACBS and ANZ ACBS.
Chris works collaboratively. He starts with your own story — your choices, your concerns and what matters to you — then looks for the barriers, recurring patterns and limits that hold you back. Meaningful change follows from that shared understanding. Chris also believes good psychology should not depend on your postcode, so he offers telehealth to clients in rural and remote communities alongside his Melbourne rooms.
Chris is a registered psychologist (AHPRA PSY0002014678) and has practised since 2016. He has worked in rural regions and in community service organisations, and in adolescent mental health. Alongside client work, Chris provides psychology supervision, NDIS psychology services, and training and workshops for teams, parents and teachers.
Chris draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and short-term solution-focused work. He also uses Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), including training for teams, parents and teachers. Chris matches the approach to the person in front of him, rather than the other way around. Sessions are warm and conversational, and the work stays practical and evidence-based.
