Pre-Emptive Healthcare is a multidisciplinary mental health clinic in Balwyn North, Melbourne, providing psychology, psychiatry, dietetics, assessments and allied mental health support for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. We also offer secure telehealth appointments across Australia. What makes our …
Our mission is to provide accessible, compassionate and evidence-based mental healthcare that is tailored to each person’s needs. Through careful clinician matching, inclusive practice and coordinated multidisciplinary care, we aim to help individuals, couples and families feel understood, supported and empowered to achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their wellbeing.
Our team brings together experienced psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and mental health social work support. Each practitioner has their own areas of interest, clinical experience and therapeutic style, allowing us to match clients with someone suited to their needs, preferences and goals. Our psychologists support children, adolescents and adults with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, grief, eating and body-image difficulties, ADHD, autism and broader neurodivergent experiences. The team also provides couples and family therapy, ADHD and autism assessments, NDIS-related support and secure telehealth appointments. Our psychiatrists provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, medication management and integrated treatment planning, while our dietitian offers evidence-based nutrition counselling for mental health, eating concerns and overall wellbeing. Where appropriate and with the client’s consent, practitioners can collaborate with each other, GPs and other treating professionals to provide coordinated care. Although our practitioners exercise their own independent clinical judgement, they share a commitment to compassionate, inclusive, evidence-based and trauma-informed practice. Our friendly intake and administration team also plays an important role by helping clients understand their options and find the most appropriate practitioner from the outset.
At Pre-Emptive Healthcare, we believe effective therapy begins with understanding each person as an individual. Our clinicians provide compassionate, evidence-based and trauma-informed care tailored to each client’s needs, experiences, strengths and goals. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we match clients with an appropriate clinician and draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches and systemic family therapy. We aim to create a safe, inclusive and non-judgmental environment in which individuals, couples, families and young people feel heard, respected and empowered to make meaningful and lasting change.
