Our Team

Aspiring Minds Child Psychology is home to a team of clinical psychologists and registered child psychologists who bring a broad range of expertise to supporting children, adolescents and their families. The team includes clinicians registered with AHPRA and members of professional bodies such as the Australian Psychological Society, with training that spans Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Psychology (Professional) qualifications through to registrars completing their endorsement in Clinical Psychology. Collectively, the team has built experience across both public and private health sectors, as well as early education settings, giving them a well-rounded understanding of the different environments in which children present with emotional, behavioural and developmental concerns. Some clinicians bring a particular focus to neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming practice, drawing on lived experience as well as clinical training to create a space where neurodivergent children, adolescents and their families feel understood and accepted. Others specialise in supporting families navigating a wide range of stressors, using warm, collaborative approaches to build trust with both children and parents. Despite their different areas of interest, the team is united by a shared commitment to evidence-based care, delivering diagnostic and psychometric assessments alongside therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based strategies and parent management training. By working from within the one practice, clinicians can collaborate closely on each child's care, allowing families to move between assessment and therapy, or between clinicians with different specialties, without needing to start again elsewhere. Each clinician brings a genuine, relatable style to their work, connecting with children and teenagers through shared interests and everyday experiences to help them feel comfortable opening up. Whether a family is working with one clinician throughout their journey or drawing on the expertise of several team members, Aspiring Minds Child Psychology ensures every child receives care that is thorough, compassionate and tailored to their individual needs.

Therapeutic Approaches

Our Approach

Aspiring Minds Child Psychology approaches every child as an individual, aiming to help them feel understood rather than simply managed. The team's goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but to build children's confidence, resilience and self-understanding so they can navigate daily life, school, friendships and family relationships more comfortably. Support is tailored to where each family is at, whether that means starting with an assessment, beginning therapy while exploring a possible diagnosis, or working on both at once. Parents and carers are treated as active partners throughout the process, with strategies provided to help them respond consistently and supportively at home. The practice also collaborates with schools and, where relevant, GPs and paediatricians, so that a child's care is joined up across the different settings that matter to them.
